The al-Ghirayib family lives in one of the stranger manifestations of Israel's 43-year occupation of the West Bank: a Palestinian house inside a metal cage inside an Israeli settlement.
The family's 10 members, four of them children, can only reach the house via a 40-yard (meter) passageway connecting them to the Arab village of Beit Ijza farther down a hill. The passageway passes over a road used by Israeli army jeeps and is lined on both sides with a 24-foot-high (8-meter) heavy-duty metal fence.
The same fence rings the simple one-story house, separating it from the surrounding settlement houses.

Human rights group B'Tselem has uploaded a video showing Israeli police officers brutally attacking a Palestinian child, providing more evidence of Israeli violence against Palestinian children.
The video shows a border policeman apprehending a nine-year-old boy, identified as Abd al-Rahman Burkan, and knocking him to the ground while the child shouts, near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of al-Khalil (Hebron) in the south of the occupied West Bank on June 29.
A second policeman is then seen approaching the child and kicking him.

[09 July 2012] George Galloway: The Mystery of Arafat Death - English
Recent investigations indicate that Yasser Arafat might have been poisoned with the radioactive Polonium 210 in Paris in 2004. The deadly poison was also used to murder the former officer of the Russian Federal Security Service, FSB and KGB, Alexander Litvinenko, in 2006. Last week, Barclays was fined 290 million pounds for attempting to manipulate the rates on which banks lend to each other.
Public and political pressure forced the bank's former CEO, Bob Diamond, to take responsibility for rogue traders and resign. Diamond was paid around 14 million pounds a year in salaries and bonuses. Meanwhile, the movie actor Tom Cruise and his wife Katie Holmes are getting divorced. Sources close to Holmes say it is all about Scientology, the cult to which Cruise is a member.

[16 July 2012] George Galloway London militarized for Olympics - English
The private security company, G4S, was handed 300 million pounds to hire 10,000 security guards to police the London Olympics. Last week, the army marched in another 3,500 soldiers to tighten the security for Londoners. "There are already signs all over the place warning drivers not to venture in the central London and the underground stations are festooned with posters warning of the mayhem to come," said George Galloway.
East London, where the Olympics are centered, has become a militarized zone. Blocks of apartments have had ground-to-air missile batteries installed on their roofs despite protests by the owners. Special lanes are being installed on approach roads so the athletes and organizers can be fast tracked, avoiding the traffic jams. According to the governor of the Bank of England, Britain is now in recession, which is set to continue for another five years.

[30 July 2012] Syrian opposition meet in Qatar - English
Syrian opposition has met in Doha to discuss formation of a transitional government predicated on the overthrow of the Assad regime. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on July 28, "Our Western partners... together with some of Syria's neighbors are essentially encouraging, supporting and directing an armed struggle against [the Syrian government]."
On Wednesday, the first diplomatic blunder occurred in the London Olympics games when the South Korean flag rather than the North Korean flag was shown before women's football match. Meanwhile, the UK economy is in worsening recession. The economy is now smaller than it was when the Tory-Lib Dem coalition came into power in 2010. The Bank of England is going to print more notes probably up to 500 billion pounds more in an effort to stimulate growth.

An analyst says Israel is \'absolutely not\' interested in peace as Tel Aviv\'s violation of peace agreements, attacks on Palestinians and continual construction of new settlements in the occupied territories clearly indicate. The comment comes as Last month; Israeli officials said they would go ahead with plans to build 6,500 settler units on Palestinian territory despite the opposition of the United Nations and the international community.
The presence and also the continued expansion of Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine are major obstacles for the efforts to establish peace in the Middle East. More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israel\'s occupation of Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds in 1967. The UN and most countries regard the Israeli settlements as illegal because the territories were captured by Israel in a war in 1967 and are hence subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbids construction on occupied lands.
Press TV has conducted an interview with Hani al-Bassous to further discuss the issue. He is joined by Abdallah Abdallah with the Palestinian Legislative Council and reporter and political analyst Maxine Dovere.

Israel has approved 3,500 new settler homes in the occupied East Jerusalem Al-Quds and the West Bank, a move that the EU said it \\\"deplored\\\", recalling that settlements were illegal under international law. Israel issues tenders for more settler units in the West Bank and East Jerusalem al-Quds. Settlement watchdog, Peace Now says the tenders were published for a total of 18-hundred-59 settler units. According to the NGO, about two-fifths of the units will be built in occupied east Jerusalem al-Quds. The announcement comes only days after Israel gave the final approval for 15-hundred new settler units in east Jerusalem al-Quds. Israel\'s settlement activities have been a main obstacle in the so-called peace talks between the Palestinian Authority and Tel Aviv. The Palestinian Authority has condemned the move as a flagrant violation of international law, saying it plans to turn to the UN Security Council and international courts to stop Israel\'s illegal activities. Israel\'s settlement activities are illegal under international law.

Israel has made an announcement that they produce tenders for a further 2000 new illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem al Quds.
Israeli prime minister made the announcement just one week before the Israelis are set to release 24 Palestinian prisoners who have been held in Israeli jails since before the Oslo agreement in 1993. Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniya has reached out to West Bank rivals Fatah, saying its members will be allowed back into Gaza, in an effort to promote Palestinian reconciliation.
Haniya stated that the Hamas government will allow all Fatah members who are from the Gaza Strip and who left the territory in 2007 to return, without any precondition. But the Hamas prime minister made exceptions for those accused of killing Hamas members during intense factional fighting that year. Haniya had a phone conversation with Fatah leader and acting Palestinian authority chief Mahmoud Abbas in October, during which he called for a resolution of their dispute and a QUOTE return to national unity.

Israel approves plans to build more than two thousand new settler units in Jerusalem al-Quds and the occupied West Bank. As Israeli soldiers hand out more eviction orders to Palestinian families, we\'re asking is Tel Aviv under enough international pressure to stop its settlement activities that the UN has called illegal?
