Iranian academic Shahram Amiri who was abducted by the US last year is now in Iran's interest section in Washington. Iranian academic Shahram Amiri, who was abducted by the US last year, has been escorted by American forces to Iran's interest section in Washington. However, in the latest audio message obtained by Iran's intelligence sources, Amiri insists that he was offered $10 million to appear on CNN and announce that he had willingly defected to the US. Holding the US accountable for Amiri's abduction, the Iranian Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss charge d'affaires, whose embassy represents US interests in Iran, earlier this month and handed over new documents related to the abduction of the Iranian national by the CIA. Analysts say US intelligence officials decided to free Amiri after they failed to advance their propaganda campaign against Iran's nuclear program via fabricating interviews with the Iranian national.

DETAILS: Leader Perceives Brilliant Future for Iranian Poetry TEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei met with tens of Iranian poets and poetesses on Wednesday, where he said the Iranian poetry now enjoys the potential to revive its lustrous past. The meeting was held on the birthday anniversary of Shiite Islam\\\'s first Imam Hazrat Ali (AS), the cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the father of the second and third Imams Hazrat Hassan ibn-e Ali (AS) and Hossein ibn-e Ali (AS). At the meeting, a number of poets and poetesses recited some of their poems. The Leader praised the depth and the richness of the recitations, and said contemporary poetry heralds a lustrous era for the Iranian literature and poetry in the near future. Special Documentary by Press TV's Beirut Bureau and Documentary Team on the four Iranian Diplomats kidnapped by the Lebanese Militia (Phalangist Militian) and who have disappeared since. On the 4th of July 1982, during the occupation of Lebanon by the Israeli Army, four Iranian diplomats namely Sayyed Mohsen Mousavi, Ahmad Motavasselian, Kazem Akhavan and Taghi Rastegar Moqaddam, were arrested in the North of Lebanon by the Lebanese Militia (aka Lebanese Forces, Phalangist Militia) and have since then disappeared without a trace. Iran believes that the Lebanese Militia handed over the four diplomats to the Israeli Army but Israel claims that it was not aware of the kidnapping and they were killed by the Lebanese Militia a while after detention. This documentary follows Sayyed Raaed Mousavi, the son of one of the four kidnapped Iranian diplomats as he strives to obtain some clarity on the fate of his father and the other three Iranian diplomats. This was broadcast on Press TV between December 25 and December 26, 2011.

The Iranian leader arrived in Venezuela's capital from stops in Brazil, where he attended the United Nations Rio+20 conference in Rio de Janeiro, and Bolivia.Chavez and Ahmadinejad vowed to keep building closer ties. The Venezuelan president has expressed solidarity with Iran on its nuclear energy program which Iran insists it's for peaceful purposes. Caracas and Tehran have signed an estimated five billion dollars worth of trade deals and accords since 2001 including construction projects, car factories and most recently an agreement for Caracas to manufacture unmanned aerial aircrafts better known as drones.The United States has looked at these accords with disapproval and last year put sanctions on Venezuela's state oil company for making deals with Iran's energy sector.Chavez criticized the sanctions against Iran and pledged to continue being Tehran's key ally in Latin America.This is President Ahmadinejad second visit to Venezuela this year. According to Hugo Chavez there have been more than 300 bilateral accords signed by both countries.

Iran says the terrorists who assassinated an Iranian diplomat in Yemen have been identified. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian stated that a committee has been set up to closely pursue the issue of the murder of Abol Ghasem Asadi. He also expressed hope that the Yemeni government would announce the names and nationalities of the killers in the near future. Asadi was killed in the Yemeni capital San\'a last Saturday by an unknown group. Amir Abdollahian also mentioned the case of an Iranian diplomat who was abducted in Yemen several months ago, adding that serious efforts are being made to obtain the release of Nour Ahmad Nikbakht.
