Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official in charge of monitoring settler activity in the northern, occupied West Bank, says Israeli settlers attack Palestinians and their properties on a daily basis. He says the attacks are premeditated and carefully planned. Palestinian political prisoner and long term hunger striker Samer al Issawi was greeted by hundreds of supporters, friends and family as he was released from an Israeli jail following the longest hunger strike in Palestinian history. Samer al Azawi was originally captured by the Israeli army and handed a 26 year sentence in 2002. He was released as part of the Gilad Shalit deal alongside over a thousand other prisoners in exchange for 1 Israeli prisoner. However, Asawi was arrested again in July 2012 and held in administrative detention without charge or trial. Following his detention, Asawi went on a 260 day hunger strike in protest against the Israeli\\\'s threatening to renew his original prison sentence for breaking the terms of his parole. Israeli forces raided his family\\\'s home twice just before his release. On Sunday, Israeli authorities gave notices to Issawi\\\'s brother and father, demanding they meet requirements by the Israeli intelligence. Israeli intelligence agents, accompanied by soldiers, told the family they were not allowed to organize any celebrations for Issawi\\\'s release. Samer al Azawi will now join his family in Jerusalem al Quds following a 9 months hunger strike which prompted the Israeli authorities to release him. He stressed the importance of applying international pressure on Israel to release over 4800 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli jails.

DUBLIN (AP) -- Ireland announced Tuesday it's expelling an Israeli diplomat in punishment for the Mossad use of forged Irish passports to assassinate a top Hamas official in Dubai. israel has refused to confirm or deny its agents' involvement in the January slaying of Hamas official Mahmoud al-Mabhouh. Dubai police said Israeli agents posing as holidaymakers in the oil-rich Arab emirate killed Mabhouh in his hotel room. They said assassins using 32 fake passports — including eight depicting fictional Irish citizens — participated in the hit squad. The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Ireland's national police force, the Garda Siochana, launched parallel investigations, but said their appeals for information from Israel fell on deaf ears. "The misuse of Irish passports by a state with which Ireland enjoys friendly, if sometimes frank, bilateral relations is clearly unacceptable and requires a firm response," Irish Foreign Minister Micheal Martin said as he announced the expulsion. Ireland's two investigations received no cooperation from the Israelis, but nevertheless reached "the inescapable conclusion that an Israeli government agency was responsible," he said. The Israeli embassy in Dublin includes four diplomats and two security officials. Both Ireland and Israel declined to identify the official facing expulsion by name or position, but The Irish Times reported it was one of the security officials. Martin said the official was chosen for expulsion to send a symbolic message, and the Irish investigations found no evidence that any of the embassy staff was involved in the conspiracy. "The official concerned is not accused or suspected of any particular wrongdoing," Martin said. "The official concerned is a victim of the actions of the state they represent." Martin condemned Israel's assassination of Mabhouh. "Many allegations have been made against Mr. Mabhouh which, if true, would categorize him as a committed terrorist," Martin said. But Ireland "does not believe that states should fight terror with terror. As a matter of principle, Ireland opposes extra-judicial killings. We believe that states have a duty to operate according to the law and to respect that way of life that terrorists seek to destroy." Martin's aides said this was the first time Ireland has expelled an Israeli official. It last took such action in the mid-1980s against Russian officials suspected of spying activity on behalf of the former Soviet Union. Israel's ambassador to Ireland, Zion Evrony, said he was summoned Tuesday to the Department of Foreign Affairs to be told of the expulsion. Earlier this month Israeli commandos seized an Irish-run vessel trying to run aid into Gaza Port. All the Irish citizens aboard, including former UN humanitarian official Denis Halliday and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mairead Corrigan Maguire, were arrested and deported. The Dubai assassins also used fake passports from Britain, Germany, France and Australia. British officials determined that Israeli officials stole the identities of real British citizens, but Martin said all eight Irish passports involved fake identities. He said six of the forged Irish passports used real numbers assigned to real Irish people with different names, while two others were total fabrications. Australia expelled an Israeli diplomat May 24 after concluding that Mossad was involved in forging four Australian passports. Britain expelled an Israeli diplomat in March after reaching the same conclusion about 12 fraudulent British passports used by the alleged assassins. Pappe concludes that this was "a clear-cut case of an ethnic cleansing operation, regarded under international law today as a crime against humanity." Israeli warplanes have bombarded the Gaza Strip, killing at least two Palestinian and wounding several others. Eyewitnesses say Israeli warplanes targeted the southern city of Khan Yunis. Two more strikes were reported in the east of the Gaza city and another in the center of the impoverished enclave. The attacks come shortly after a Palestinian sniper shot dead an Israeli along a border fence in the north of the coastal enclave. The incident seemed to be in retaliation for the recent killing of Palestinians in Gaza by Israeli forces. The Israeli military shot and wounded a Palestinian in northern Gaza on Monday. Another Palestinian was wounded by Israeli troops on Friday in southern Gaza, a day after a young Palestinian was killed and four others injured by Israeli fire.

Patients and doctors have protested inside Gaza\'s Shifa hospital as they marked the World Cancer Day. The number of cancer cases has been on the rise in recent years following two Israeli wars on the blockaded coastal strip. An average of one thousand cancer cases has been recorded annually among Gazans for the last two years. The Gaza Health Ministry says the Israeli regime\'s use of internationally banned weapons has sharply increased the number of cancer cases. During the 22-day Israeli war at the turn of 2009, Norwegian Doctor Mads Fredrik Gilbert who volunteered at Gaza\'s Shifa hospital said that some victims had traces of depleted uranium in their wounds. The majority of Israeli high-tech weapons contain depleted uranium. Most cancer patients lived in areas that were heavily bombarded by Israeli forces during the last two Israeli wars. Lack of medicines as well as cancer patients\' inability to receive treatment abroad due to closure of crossings by both Israel and the Egyptian military is putting their lives at grave risk. Experts have said that Israeli forces used internationally banned weapons like White Phosphorous and weapons containing depleted uranium against the civilian population of Gaza. Experts say such weapons are carcinogenic.

Reports coming out of the occupied Palestinian territories say Israeli forces have killed at least one Palestinian man. Ahmad Tazazaa was killed in a village near the West Bank city of Jenin. The 22-year old is the latest victim of Israeli military attacks on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank. About 20 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank this year alone. Israeli troops also made some arrests in the village of Qabatiya south of Jenin. Meanwhile, Israeli troops arrested 12 Palestinians in the West Bank city of Ramallah. Three Hamas officials were among the detainees.

Washington has reacted to comments by an israeli minister who insulted the US secretary of state a little earlier. This, after the Israeli minister of military affairs said that John Kerry\'s plan for the so-called peace talks between Tel Aviv and the Palestinians Authority was not worth the paper it was written on. Now the US State Department says that Moshe Yaalon\'s comments are offensive and inappropriate. According to Israeli media reports, Yaalon has also, during private conversations, implied that Kerry is a nuisance, by saying that he should take his Nobel prize and leave us alone. The remarks have drawn angry reactions from Israeli officials and the opposition, who say such tongue-lashing comments could destroy Tel-Aviv\'s relations with Washington. Israel\'s Environmental Protection minister has gone beyond that by calling on the prime minister to fire Yaalon and ministers who are in line with him. Kerry\'s proposal for the so-called peace process include a security plan for the Jordan Valley in the West Bank. Under the plan, Israeli forces must withdraw from the Valley - - a proposal Tel Aviv is opposed to.

Palestinian medical and security officials say the victim is 18-year-old Mohammad Mubarak, who lived in the Jalazone refugee camp. Palestinian sources said Mubarak was a laborer on a US-aid project in the area. Israeli officials have confirmed the deadly shooting. However, they claimed that Mohammad was a \"terrorist\" who was shot dead after opening fire on Israeli forces. Many Palestinians including women and children get killed or maimed by Israeli forces despite repeated outcries by human rights groups.

Israeli authorities say the man was a suspect in last year\'s explosion on a bus in Tel Aviv. They say Israeli forces also detained two other Palestinians in connection with the blast. The explosion had happened during Israel\'s military offensive on the Gaza Strip.

Israeli settlers and extremists have desecrated the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound before the eyes of Israeli police. Dozens of settlers stormed the holy Mosque through the Dung Gate. The Gate is always used by settlers when storming the holy Mosque. The settlers were led by Jewish extremist Rabbi Yehunda Glick, the chairman of the so-called Temple Mount Heritage Fund. In recent weeks, groups of Jewish settlers-often accompanied by Israeli security forces-have repeatedly entered the al-Aqsa Mosque complex. The frequent violations anger Palestinian Muslims and occasionally lead to violent clashes inside the mosque compound.

Israeli forces have stormed a Palestinian home to arrest a 4-year-old child in Jerusalem al-Quds. Muhammad al-Majid\'s father says Israeli forces woke up his little son in the middle of the night. He says, however, that they backed down from carrying out the arrest after seeing the child. Months ago, a two-and a half-year-old boy was about to be arrested in a similar attempt. Human rights organizations are warning that Palestinian children are routinely tortured and habitually threatened with rape by their Israeli captors. According to the independent organization of Defense for Children International, 179 Palestinian minors have been imprisoned and prosecuted in Israeli military courts, since September 30.

An Israeli soldier has been killed in clashes with the Lebanese army in the Ras al-Naqoura area. The incident happened after the Israeli soldier tried to infiltrate into Lebanon. Israeli military has also confirmed that one of its forces has been killed along the border with Lebanon. Reports say Israeli warplanes are flying over the region and have violated the Lebanese airspace. A spokesman for the UN peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon has told Press TV that they are trying to find out the facts over the incident. Earlier in the day, Israel\\\'s ambassadors in Britain, France, Italy and Spain were summoned over Tel Aviv\\\'s latest settlement plans. A senior European diplomat says EU officials have made clear the settlement announcements have negative impacts on the so-called peace talks. The bloc\\\'s urged Israel to refrain from such moves and use the unique opportunity of talks to end the conflict between the two sides. The EU\\\'s latest move follows Tel Aviv\\\'s recent unveiling of a plan for more than 18-thousand new settler units in east Jerusalem al-Quds and the West Bank.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continues to protest against the Geneva deal, making allegations about Iran\'s nuclear program. Speaking at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, the Israeli prime minister said that according to their assessment, under the Geneva agreement, Iran is just six weeks away from building a nuclear weapon. Throughout the years, Israeli officials have made similar allegations. Last October, Israeli officials said Iran is just one month away from building a nuclear bomb. Netanyahu\'s comments come ahead of the next round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P-five-plus-one group.

The Israeli high court has held its first session to determine the fate of two Palestinian villages which Israeli wants to divide and annex behind a controversial wall. The proposed wall which has already sparked an international outcry will cut directly through the villages of Battir and Cremisan, isolating villagers from their rich agricultural lands. One of the villages to be most adversely affected is Battir, where the wall will cut through and destroy ancient Roman terraces, a castle, and a Roman irrigation system which the villagers still use to irrigate their crops. Christians from the village of Cremisan have been demonstrating on a weekly basis in the \'Tent of Nations\' which has attracted international support. Villagers here claim that the Israeli is trying to grab the lands that belong to 58 families. The Bethlehem municipality filed the petition in the high court. Israeli claims the separation wall will be built for the so-called security reasons. However, the Palestinians call is yet another excuse to seize their lands. Following years of petitioning to keep their land and agricultural resources intact, residents of Battir and Cremisan say they would wait for the court\'s decision. However, they pledge to keep fighting for their rights and say that even IF the ruling is not in their favor they will continue to pressurize Israel through international petitions.

Some reports suggest that at least 20 Palestinians have been injured and three others arrested in the crackdown. The Al-Aqsa compound is Islam\'s third-holiest site after Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia. In recent months, Israeli forces and settlers have stepped up their attacks on the mosque, leading to violent confrontations between the two sides. Back in 2000, a provocative visit to the site by former Israeli premier Ariel Sharon triggered a second Intifada or uprising during which thousands of Palestinians were killed and injured.

On the largest ship, the Mavi Marmara, Israeli commandos opened fire on civilian passengers, killing at least 9 passengers and wounding dozens more. Others are still missing. The final death toll is yet to be determined. Cultures of Resistance director Iara Lee was aboard the besieged ship and has since returned home safely. Despite the Israeli government's thorough efforts to confiscate all footage taken during the attack, Iara Lee was able to retain some of her recordings. Rabbi slammed for promoting 'genocide' The chief Palestinian negotiator has urged worldwide condemnation of Israel's genocidal figures after a top Israeli clergyman wished all Palestinians dead. Referring to the Palestinians, the founder and spiritual leader of Israel's ultra-orthodox Shas party, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef said on Saturday, "All these evil people should perish from this world," Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz reported. He especially desired the demise of acting Palestinian Authority (PA) Chief Mahmoud Abbas, referring to him by name. The remarks raised eyebrows partially as it came from a party partnering with Premier Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud in the ruling coalition. They also preceded upcoming direct peace talks between Israel and the PA. The Palestinian official, Saeb Erekat, called on the international community "to condemn incitement to genocide by public figures in Israel," AFP reported. Yosef "is literally calling for a genocide against Palestinians, and there seems to be no response from the Israeli government," he said in a statement. "He is particularly calling for the assassination of...Abbas who within a few days will be sitting face to face with Prime Minister Netanyahu. Is this how the Israeli government prepares its public for a peace agreement?" Erekat pointed out. He said Tel Aviv had "to do more about peace and stop spreading hatred." The Shas spiritual leader made similar comments in April 2001, calling for the annihilation of Arabs.

This is his passport, the one he wants to renounce. In the past, some Israelis have managed to get their citizenship revoked, but there are no known cases of these Israelis applying for Palestinian residency or a Palestinian passport. Born in Tajikistan before the collapse of the Soviet Union, Andrey Pshenichnikov's parents moved to Russia in search of a better life. And then the family moved to Israel. It took only a little while before he discovered the darker side of his new country. This experience influenced his years as a soldier of the Israeli Defense Forces. Instead, Andrey Pshenichnikov lived and worked at the Deheishe Refugee Camp near Bethlehem, first in hotels and then in construction. He is also open to the idea of settling down in Gaza. Andrey Pshenichnikov says Israeli authorities have black listed him as a terrorist. And he believes, it's easier to give up his citizenship when he's out of Israel. He hopes, his decision will set an example and inspire others to follow. The process to renounce his citizenship could be a lengthy one, one that Andrey Pshenichnikov says he is willing to face.

The attacks have claimed over a dozen lives in Gaza since Monday. A number of Gazans, including at least one child, have been killed and many others injured in the latest Israeli attack.International activists say the world has to condemn Israel's military attacks on innocent Palestinians in Gaza and take decisive measures to end the suffering of Gaza's 1.7 million.Israel frequently carries out air raids and conducts ground incursions in Gaza. The blockaded coastal enclave has been cut of from the outside world as Israel controls Gaza's border crossings, airspace and territorial waters, turning the impoverished territory into the world's largest open air prison.

[03 July 2012] West must condemn Israeli barbarism - English Human rights group B'Tselem has uploaded a video showing Israeli police officers brutally attacking a Palestinian child, providing more evidence of Israeli violence against Palestinian children. The video shows a border policeman apprehending a nine-year-old boy, identified as Abd al-Rahman Burkan, and knocking him to the ground while the child shouts, near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of al-Khalil (Hebron) in the south of the occupied West Bank on June 29. A second policeman is then seen approaching the child and kicking him. Press TV has conducted an interview with Bruce Katz, president of Palestinian and Jewish Unity, to further discuss the issue.
