What is a nationalist, or neo-Nazi, with far-right terrorist ideologies? Norway's anti-Islam terrorist Breivik listed numerous European Freedom Parties and neo-Nazi parties as allies because of their anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim stance, not to mention several anti-Islam personalities from the US in his writings titled 2083: A European Declaration of Independence.
More than a week after the Norwegian terrorist attacks, Europe is finding itself extremely exposed to the threat of a growing right-wing homegrown terrorism. In this edition of Press TV News Analysis, we will examine how big these movements are, and how much of a threat they pose society.

The Bahrain Independent Commission Inquiry was established on the 29th of June 2011 by King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa. The commission has been tasked with investigating and reporting on the events that took place in Bahrain from February 2011.
There are concerns that there could be serious political and social ramifications from the serious biases and deficiencies in the report. The commission which has been paid for and set up by the regime that has committed these acts has led to human rights organizations to question its legitimacy.
The results of the commission came out on the 23rd of November and the government says it has formed a working group to study the report, which calls for an examination of people's political, economic and social grievances, but opposition parties say no one has contacted them.
Questions have arisen on whether any external pressure for reform especially by the US be thwarted by Saudi Arabia who would not want to empower the opposition in Bahrain. It is also important to note that Bahrain hosts the US fifth fleet.
In this edition of the show we ask; Bahrain: Is the government serious about reforms?

Western media has gradually been increasing its reporting on Iran, the same pattern of reporting that was perceived during the lead up to the war on Iraq.
The media is believed to have played an important role in generating acceptance for the Iraq war, simply by calling Iraq its enemy, and by repeatedly feeding the public information and reasons for waging war against Iraq.
The biggest reason was to stop the potential threat of attack by its weapons of mass destruction; yet even now, almost a decade later, there is still no evidence that Iraq had any weapons of mass destruction at all.

George: The Yanks are going home from Iraq, well except the nearly 5000 of them who died and apart from the thirty thousand plus severely wounded and too damaged probably ever to make it back to home.
Of course the three million Iraqis driven out of their country into exile many of them begging in the countries alongside Iraq may never go home.
Also the Americans are going home without two trillion dollars of their people's money that they expended on this ruinous and disastrous war.

http://edition.presstv.ir/detail/215690.html
A political activist says that the United States and Israeli governments are the greatest security threat in the world, inflicting wholesale slaughter and massive human displacement.
Press TV has conducted an exclusive interview with Dahlia Wasfi, with the Iraqi Justice & political activist, to further discuss the issue.
The following is a transcript of the interview.
Press TV: The US is supposed to withdraw from Iraq by the year's end. And with Obama saying just days ago in a press conference with Iraqi PM Nuri al-Maliki, the US troops will be leaving Iraq with heads held high. What legacy will the US leave behind in Iraq?
Wasfi: Well, it's nothing to be proud of. There's a legacy of the wholesale slaughter of over a million people, the making of a massive refugee crisis - the largest since the Palestinian refugee crisis began - the destruction of the Iraqi health care system, the destruction of the Iraqi education system, the destruction of Iraq's infrastructure.
In terms of security in Iraq, the most dangerous forces in the world today are the United States military and the Israeli occupation forces. Those are the greatest threats to global security. So while it's true that Iraq is a dangerous place, it is because of the US military stay and its illegal occupation, not in spite of it.
Press TV: If the US leaves Iraq - and I say IF, because there might be the possibility to extend the deadline at the 11th hour - how capable do you think Iraq would be in taking care of itself?
Wasfi: Iraq is the cradle of civilization. There's no question that though it will take decades to overcome the destruction that has been wrought by the forces led by the United States and Great Britain, that Iraq can recover on its own. History has shown that.
As you said, this is a farce. It's not actually an end to the military occupation of Iraq. It's a maintained military and economic occupation with, as I've read, 16,000 US military personnel, in addition to mercenaries, in addition to CIA and other operatives that are operating in Iraq under the guise of organizations like US Aid which have long time been used as cover for the CIA.
Press TV: Adding to your list, what remains for the question of the Mujaheddin Khalq Organization - the terrorist organization operating on Iraqi soil?
Wasfi: I'll repeat again that the largest terrorist organization that's operating on Iraqi soil is the US military. Iraq's borders have been blown wide open since March 19th, 2003. Anyone and everyone has access to Iraq. Iran has a very strong influence in Iraq today.
But the only future of Iraq, it is only up to the Iraqis, just as the future of Syria is up to the Syrians, just as the future of Iran is only up to Iran. And the future of the US is up to the Americans. And for all of these countries, no more interference by Israeli politics.

Number of cases of domestic violence in UK has risen. 1 in 4 women will be a victim of domestic violence in their lifetime, many of these on a number of occasions.
One incident of domestic violence is reported to the police every minute. On average, 2 women a week are killed by a current or former male partner.
In this edition of the show we will explore why our Western culture allows this, and what is
government doing to solve this serious issue?

The revolution in Bahrain gained momentum. You may remember the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry, set up by the Al-Khalifa regime recently to investigate reports of rights abuse during the crackdown.
The Commission's findings accused the regime of using excessive force, cited rights abuses, and called for steps to be taken for these incidents not to occur.
Yet this past week, Saudi-backed forces yet again attacked anti-regime protesters, injuring dozens. In one example, police arrested human rights activist Zainab al-Khawaja near the capital Manama. Zainab's relatives said she'd been handcuffed, dragged and beaten by the police.

Western media, fashion magazines and beauty contests out forward the image of an ideal woman which deeply contrasts with the ideal Muslim Woman. Muslim women are often portrait in these same media as oppressed and submissive.
However, there is a growing movement within women of European Muslim communities that defend that the true oppression comes from the ideal imposed by western values that focus only on the external image of women.
In this edition of the show we ask the following question: What is the ideal image of women in the eyes of Islam?

Special Documentary by Press TV's Beirut Bureau and Documentary Team on the four Iranian Diplomats kidnapped by the Lebanese Militia (Phalangist Militian) and who have disappeared since.
On the 4th of July 1982, during the occupation of Lebanon by the Israeli Army, four Iranian diplomats namely Sayyed Mohsen Mousavi, Ahmad Motavasselian, Kazem Akhavan and Taghi Rastegar Moqaddam, were arrested in the North of Lebanon by the Lebanese Militia (aka Lebanese Forces, Phalangist Militia) and have since then disappeared without a trace.
Iran believes that the Lebanese Militia handed over the four diplomats to the Israeli Army but Israel claims that it was not aware of the kidnapping and they were killed by the Lebanese Militia a while after detention.
This documentary follows Sayyed Raaed Mousavi, the son of one of the four kidnapped Iranian diplomats as he strives to obtain some clarity on the fate of his father and the other three Iranian diplomats.
This was broadcast on Press TV between December 25 and December 26, 2011.

From presstv -
A political analyst says the Syrian government has the legal right to target the US military and intelligence drones operating over Syria, Press TV reports.
“Syria has the right to use military capability to disturb this mission and even to attack those aircraft,” said Hisham Jaber, the director of Center for Middle East Studies in an interview with Press TV on Saturday.
He made the comment after NBC News claimed earlier that the US military has dispatched a “good number” of unmanned drones for operations in Syrian airspace to monitor “the Syrian military attacks against opposition forces and civilians.”
“They [the Syrian government] can sue them [the US] before the international court,” Jaber added.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. Hundreds of people, including many Syrian security forces, have been killed in the course of the turmoil.
Damascus blames “outlaws, saboteurs and armed terrorist groups” for the unrest, insisting that it is being orchestrated from abroad. The West and the Syrian opposition, however, accuse the government of killing the protesters

Large numbers of Ba’ath Party members and supporters rallied across several Syrian cities marking the 65th anniversary of the Party’s establishment. In the capital Damascus, supporters packed into Saba’ Bahrat square, showing their support for the Ba’ath Party and the president Bashar al-Assad.
Syrians waved the Syrian flag and sang national anthem in a show of unity against what they described as a conspiracy targeting their country.
Syrians reiterated their adherence to the Ba'ath Party principles, including supporting the Palestinian cause and resisting the Israeli occupation.
The Ba’ath Party was the only ruling party in Syria for decades.
Nevertheless, Syrians in a referendum in February voted for a new constitution which allowed a multiparty system in the country and political pluralism which gave all political parties the right to share power.
Supporters have gathered to renew adherence to their party led by president Bashar al-Assad, expressing confidence in the party’s ability to build a new Syria stronger than before.

[23 March 2012] Syria crisis: global and domestic transformations - Middle East Today - Presstv - English
As security in Syria deteriorates with fears of more bombings, continuous fighting between the national army and rebel forces, the United Nations special envoy continues his efforts to create an agreement with the consensus of all parties.
Where can these efforts reach in light of the Syrian opposition\'s refusal of political solution? Some groups have even called for military intervention.
Will there be Arab and western efforts to exert more political and even military pressure on Assad? Will the West leave the resolution to countries like Russia and China in order to avoid a possible Cold War?

[13 April 2012] Bahrain uprising - Middle East Today - Presstv - English
Rights activist Abdulhadi al-Khawaja's family is fear for his life in Bahraini jails. Khawaja, the co-founder and former president of the Bahrain Center for Human Rights, began a hunger strike in early February to protest against the life sentence he received last year and Manama's ongoing crackdown on peaceful protests. Amnesty International has also called for the 'immediate and unconditional release' of al-Khawaja, considering him a 'prisoner of conscience, detained solely for exercising his right to freedom of expression.' Hunger strikes seem to have an effect on the Israeli authorities who are holding thousands of Arabs and Palestinians in jails without trial. Why does it seem harder for Bahraini activists in jail with unjust sentences to get their rights? What are the humanitarian conditions which stipulate holding a UNSC meeting to discuss a crisis in a country?

Exit polls show incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\\\'s hard-line Likud-Beitenu bloc and their allies have won a narrow majority in the Israeli general election.
However, Netanyahu\\\'s Likud Party-Yisrael Beitenu and nationalist allies performed far worse than expected in Tuesday\\\'s election and lost ground to center-left parties, according to the exit polls.
If the exit polls are correct, the hard-liners will win a narrow majority with about 61 seats in the 120-seat parliament.
It has been projected that Netanyahu\\\'s Likud Party-Yisrael Beitenu alliance will emerge as the largest faction with 30 or 31 seats.
The new centrist party, Yesh Atid (There is a Future), led by journalist-turned-politician Yair Lapid, is predicted to win 18 or 19 seats, followed by left-leaning Labor, with 17 seats.
Labor leader Shelly Yachimovich said, \\\"There is a high chance of a shake-up and an end to the Netanyahu government.\\\" The nearly 67 percent turnout is thought to have benefited Labor and centrists.

In a world where Islam is portrayed as an intolerant and strict religion, the diplomacy of the messenger of Allah with those of other faiths has been buried with time.
Though He and his people were continuously persecuted, Prophet Muhammad treated other minorities with equality, tolerance and respect.
In fact, He had invited the Jewish community and others to join the Muslims in a covenant promising them exemption from insults, equal rights to Muslims, security and freedom to practice their own religion.
This tolerance and respect was instructed upon him in many verses in the Holy Quran.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"And if they [that is, your parents] insist on you to associate (an idol) with Me... then do not obey them; however, live with them in this world kindly...\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" (Surah al-Luqman, 31:15) According to Islam, Jews and Christians are described as Ahlulbitab (People of Scriptures) and thus must be respected.
Yet many modern day Muslims refuse to enter into civilized friendships or integrate more openly with them.
This week\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Islam and Life asks: What lessons can be derived from Prophet Muhammad\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s diplomacy?

Over 50-thousand people have attended a demonstration called by the Metalworkers Union FIOM in Italy\'s capital Rome. Temporary workers mostly from the health and education sectors as well as students and the unemployed took part in the rally to demand the new broad-based government put the issue of work at the centre of its political agenda. Protesters warned that they cannot wait any longer: they urged the government to bring an end to the policy of austerity and scrap some of the measures introduced by previous Berlusconi\'s and Monti\'s governments that have contributed to batter employment.

Syria\'s economy has worsened dramatically since the ongoing unrest erupted more than two years ago, bringing hardships to Syrians day by day. The difficulty is felt particularly during the fasting month of Ramadan. The situation is also blamed on economic sanctions by the Arab League as well as some regional and Western countries. Prices of basic food materials have doubled and sometimes even tripled. Each Dollar now makes over 250 Syrian pounds, while it was worth 50 before the unrest broke out. Thus, all prices have soared, especially for the imported goods. The war on Syria is not only a military or political one. The armed conflict has deteriorated the economic situation as well, putting even greater pressure on the daily lives of the Syrians; those who suffer the most because of the ongoing crisis.
