Iran\\\'s ambassador to Baghdad says Iraqi security forces have arrested all those behind last week\\\'s deadly attack on Iranian gas technicians. Hassan Danayeefar added that the 9 terrorists have all confessed to their crime. Last week, masked gunmen attacked workers at a gas pipeline project stretching from Iran into Iraq, killing 16 Iranian nationals. One year after taking office, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is facing pressure from all sides. It appears that Morsi is losing support rapidly, whether it is domestically or internationally. Many Egyptians say he is rigid and has not kept his pre-election promises of improving the economy and establishing security. Meantime, supporters of Morsi say that he was democratically elected and must be given a chance. All this as security is deteriorating and violence increasing in Morsi\\\'s Egypt, one year after the fact.

US President Barack Obama\'s approval rating has declined to an all-time low. According to a recent opinion poll conducted jointly by the NBC News and Wall Street Journal, only 42 percent of Americans approve of Obama\'s political performance. That\'s down 5 points from early October. Pollsters say a combination of issues including the N-S-A spying scandal, Washington\'s stance on Syria and the government shutdown is responsible for the decline. On an even more negative tone, only 22-percent of respondents think the nation\'s headed in the right direction.

It has been over five weeks since Gaza\\\'s power plant stopped working. This has seriously affected all aspects of life in the tiny and impoverished coastal strip in many ways including water supply, sewage treatment and medical care. Amjad Shawa the director of Palestinian Non-Governmental Organizations Network (PNGO) made an urgent appeal to the international community to help alleviate the suffering in the blockaded coastal territory.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has sent a message to Pope Francis, expressing his determination to defend Syrians of all religions against Takfiri militants. The message was delivered during a meeting between the Syrian minister of state and the Pope\\\\\\\'s secretary of state. In his message, Assad says his government protects all its citizens against foreign-backed militants who attack civilians in their homes and places of worship. He also stressed the significance of dialog as the only option to find a way out of the current crisis in the country. The Syrian president also condemned arming militants by neighboring countries. Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011. The conflict is estimated to have killed over 126000 people and displaced millions.

The Leader of Iran\\\\\\\'s Islamic Revolution has called for using all existing potentialities to deepen bilateral relations between Iran and Turkey. Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was speaking during a meeting with visiting Turkish Prime Minister Rajab Tayyip Erdogan. The leader believes Tehran and Ankara should make proper use of the current opportunities. He noted that brotherhood between Iran and Turkey has been matchless over centuries. The Turkish prime minister said he considers Iran as Turkish officials\\\\\\\' second home. Erdogan was also received by President Hassan Rouhani. During the meeting, Rouhani said both Ankara and Tehran agree on the need to fight terrorism. Erdogan said terrorist groups operating in the name of Islam have nothing to do with the religion. The Turkish prime minister left Tehran after his meetings with Ayatollah Khamenei and President Rouhani.

The U-S will be pulling out all its troops from Afghanistan by the end of the year if Washington and Kabul fail to sign a bilateral security agreement. The US president has asked the Pentagon to make preparations for the withdrawal in case the deal with Afghanistan is not signed. Barack Obama has also spoken to his Afghan counterpart about the withdrawal plan, and said that Washington is still open to finalizing the agreement. Hamid Karzai has so far refused to sign the controversial deal over major differences with Washington. The two sides are still at odds on some of the terms, including immunity for American troops and their attacks on Afghan villages and homes.
