Two Palestinians have been shot dead by israeli troops during an incursion into the occupied West Bank.

Patients and doctors have protested inside Gaza\'s Shifa hospital as they marked the World Cancer Day. The number of cancer cases has been on the rise in recent years following two Israeli wars on the blockaded coastal strip. An average of one thousand cancer cases has been recorded annually among Gazans for the last two years. The Gaza Health Ministry says the Israeli regime\'s use of internationally banned weapons has sharply increased the number of cancer cases. During the 22-day Israeli war at the turn of 2009, Norwegian Doctor Mads Fredrik Gilbert who volunteered at Gaza\'s Shifa hospital said that some victims had traces of depleted uranium in their wounds. The majority of Israeli high-tech weapons contain depleted uranium. Most cancer patients lived in areas that were heavily bombarded by Israeli forces during the last two Israeli wars. Lack of medicines as well as cancer patients\' inability to receive treatment abroad due to closure of crossings by both Israel and the Egyptian military is putting their lives at grave risk. Experts have said that Israeli forces used internationally banned weapons like White Phosphorous and weapons containing depleted uranium against the civilian population of Gaza. Experts say such weapons are carcinogenic.

In one of the incidents, 14 Palestinians were shot and injured by Israeli troops during a demonstration against the Israeli-designated buffer zone near Jabalia. Medics say a 12-year-old boy who was shot in the head is in serious condition. And in southern Gaza, a Hamas security officer and a Palestinian boy were shot and injured by Israeli soldiers. Palestinians regularly hold demonstrations near the Israeli fence separating Gaza from the rest of occupied Palestine. They say the Israelis uprooted their trees to create the buffer zone.

[12 Aug 2012] Israeli prisons increase repression during Ramadan - English Prisoner Hatem Qafisha, an administrative detainee, said the prison\'s administration started to handcuff the prisoners\' hands and legs during meetings with the lawyers, and when using bathrooms. Qashafa also said that the prisoners suffer from these brutal procedures besides the hard living conditions due to the hot weather, the continuous cut in the electricity and the lack of the electrical equipment. The prisoner Musaab Fathi from Ramallah, an administrative detainee since 5/6/2011, also said that prisoners in section 6 live in harsh living conditions; the prisons\' administration didn\'t provide the basic materials for cooking, so prisoners just eat little amount of food that the prison provides and they are forced to drink warm water because there are no refrigerators in that section. He added that the prison\'s administration also put the African detainees in the same section, the thing that causes a lot of dispute between the prisoners.

[01 Aug 2012] Charity organization feeds Mogadishu families during Ramadan - English A Somali Charity youth organization known as KANAVA is issuing food to more than 1300 families and individuals as a positive gesture during the Islamic Holy month of Ramadan. The charity organization is feeding displaced persons from two different camps in Mogadishu in conjunction with other partners. Press TV's Abdulaziz Billow Ali reports from Mogadishu.

26 Palestinians have been released from Israeli prisons. However, thousands of Palestinians remain in Israeli detention centers. 21 of the prisoners are from the West Bank and the other five are from the Gaza Strip. They are the second group of prisoners that have been released since August. Israel approved the prisoner release under the terms of the renewed US-brokered talks with the Palestinians. Tel Aviv agreed to release 104 Palestinian prisoners in stages following the start of negotiations on July 30.

The holy month's beginning is based on sighting of the moon which is usually confirmed by religious authorities. However in multicultural Ukraine, some Muslim communities go ahead with the date announced by their countries of origin and others follow the date of their country of residence. The holy days of Ramadan begin and end with the prayers. The evening prayer is followed by the fastbreaking iftar. In Ukraine Iftar menu is as multicultural as Ukrainian Muslims are. Fasting is intended to remind Muslims of self-discipline and self-restraint. During Ramadan, Muslims avoid from eating, drinking and smoking during the daylight. They have food twice a day, one before sun rises and the other after the sun set. Fasting in Ukraine has its own features, says this mufti. For instance the daylight length in the country may climb to 18 hours. Ukrainian Muslims also point to the high humidity of the climate which makes people feel the heat. However most Muslims in Ukraine don't see any problem in this This year Ukrainian Muslim communities invited muftis from Saudi Arabia and Egypt to perform readings during Ramadan. The holy month will be also marked by charities and sharing food with the needy.

The ceremony known as Ehya is a chance for them to pray and ask for God's blessing. [06 Aug 2012] Panetta raises threat of military attack on Iran Galloway - English US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has raised the threat of a military attack on Iran regarding its nuclear energy program in an effort to reassure what they call Israel during a trip to Tel Aviv. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seems to dismiss the tough talk though, saying American statements of solidarity with Israel and hints at military attacks are not working. Iran however has denied the Western accusations that Tehran is seeking a military objective in its nuclear energy program. According to a Fatwa from the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei Iran is prohibited to follow such an objective. Russian President Vladimir Putin was in London on Thursday to discuss the Syrian issue with David Cameron. So far, Russia and China have opposed any kind of UN resolution that could be seen as supporting Libyan-style Western military intervention. "Britain has retaliated in part by blocking a Russian arm shipment to Syria but the weaponry keeps getting through at least to those favored by the West," said George Galloway.

[02 July 2014] Egypt\'s govt. restricting religious speeches during Ramadan - English

The video showed an Israeli police using excessive force against a defenseless woman in front of a child while kicking a young boy who is detained minutes later, Press TV reported on Saturday. Meanwhile, a report released on Thursday by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said that Israel has since 1967 detained about 750,000 Palestinians including some 12,000 women and tens of thousands of children. PCBS said that Israel currently holds some 6,000 Palestinians in prisons, including 35 women and 285 children. In addition, one or more members of almost every Palestinian family have been detained by the Israeli police. PCBS further said that more than 200 detainees have since 1967 been killed as a result of medical negligence, torture or murder by Israeli soldiers and prison guards. On Friday, about 12,000 Gazans staged a mass rally, which was called for by the democratically elected Hamas government, to express their solidarity with the Palestinians prisoners who are on a hunger strike for the second consecutive week in response to harsh measures used against them. �We will not rest until every Palestinian prisoner has returns to his family, we will continue our activities and resistance until we secure the release of all of our brothers and sisters who are being held captive by the Zionists,� one of the demonstrator told Press TV.

[22 July 2012] Palestinian refugees face unjust situation during Ramadan - English Since Israelis occupied Palestine in 1948, thousands of Palestinians were forced to leave their homes, and they found themselves living in refugee camps far away from their original towns and villages. In Ramadan, the situation gets more difficult for these people. This story is not an exception, and it is similar to thousands of others. According to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), there are about five million Palestinian refugees. 1.2 million of them live in the besieged Gaza Strip under very hard humanitarian circumstances.
